Man charged after $255K industrial theft in SE Calgary

Calgary police have laid charges following a massive copper wire and industrial equipment theft in the city’s southeast late last year.

One man is facing charges following the theft of industrial equipment and copper wire in southeast Calgary, valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Calgary police say three people broke into Crypto Therm Manufacturing Inc. in the Foothills Industrial area on Nov. 4, 2025.

The suspect left the area before officers arrived.

Over the following months, investigators used DNA evidence to identify one of the suspects. Police arrested a man in the community of Ogden on June 10.

Tyler John Ferris, 54, is charged with break and enter to commit an offence. He is scheduled to appear in court later this month,

Police are still working to identify the other suspects.
