Cyclist in critical condition after Macleod Trail crash

A cyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition after a crash in south Calgary Thursday afternoon. Henna Saeed reports.

A cyclist is in critical condition after a crash in south Calgary on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to Macleod Trail and 71 Avenue S around 1:40 p.m. for reports of a collision between a cyclist and a minivan.

Officers arrived to find the cyclist with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the minivan remained at the scene and was not hurt.

Southbound Macleod Trail is closed between 69 Avenue and 73 Avenue.

The investigation is ongoing.
