6-year-old girl dead after drowning at SE Calgary pond

A six-year-old girl has died after she drowned in a pond at the Southeast community of Legacy.

A young girl is dead after drowning in the southeast Calgary community of Legacy on Sunday.

Emergency crews were called to a pond near Legacy Boulevard SE and Legacy Main Street SE around 1 p.m. for reports of a possible drowning.

Calgary fire says crews tried to resuscitate a six-year-old girl when they arrived, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
