Woman in critical condition after being struck by vehicle in downtown Calgary

A woman is in life-threatening condition after being struck by a vehicle late Saturday night in downtown Calgary.
Emergency crews were called to 14 Street SW near the Bow River bridge around 11:50 p.m.
Calgary police say a woman was crossing 14 Street in a dark, unlit part of the road when she was struck by a 2007 Hyundai Sonata that was travelling northbound.
She was taken to hospital with life‑threatening injuries. Police are still trying to identify the woman.
The driver involved stayed at the scene.
Investigators believe alcohol was a factor for the pedestrian. They do not believe speed or drugs contributed to the crash.
