Calgary massage therapist charged with sexual assault

A Calgary massage therapist has been charged after a client reported being touched in a sexual way during an appointment last summer.

Calgary police say the incident happened on Aug. 9, 2025, when a victim went for a massage at Kinesio Massage Therapy on 17 Avenue SW neat 37 Street.

It is alleged the therapist touched the client in a sexual manner without consent.

The victim reported the incident earlier this year. Police executed a search warrant at the massage clinic on July 8 and arrested a suspect.

Yuriy Zhivov, 52, of Calgary, is now charged with one count of sexual assault. He is scheduled to appear in court in September.

Anyone with information about this or similar incidents can contact police at 403‑266‑1234, or submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers.

Police are reminding the public that there is no time limit for reporting sexual assault in Canada. Anyone who believes they have been a victim is encouraged to come forward, even if the incident happened years ago.
