Pedestrian hurt after being struck by CTrain at University station

A pedestrian is hurt after being struck by a CTrain in northwest Calgary on Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to a stretch of Crowchild Trail NW near the University LRT Station around 1 p.m. for reports of someone being hit by a train.

Police say one person was hurt, but have not shared the extent of their injuries.

University Station is closed and Calgary Transit says shuttle buses are running between Banff Trail and Brentwood stations for Red Line customers.

Riders are being warned to expect significant delays in both directions.
