Power mostly restored after thousands left in dark in NW Calgary

Power has been mostly restored in the city’s northwest after thousands were left in the dark on Friday morning.

Enmax says the outage began around 8 a.m. and impacted 5,600 homes and businesses in the areas of Haskayne, Rocky Ridge, Rocky View County, Tuscany, Royal Oak, and Royal Vista.

Power was restored to most customers before 11 a.m. Enmax says there are a few hundred customers still without power.

The cause of the outage remains under investigation.
