Swimmer found dead after drowning in lake near Banff: RCMP

A man is dead after drowning in a lake near Banff over the weekend.

RCMP say officers were called to Johnson Lake around 9:10 p.m. on Sunday for reports of a swimmer who had gone under the water and disappeared.

Emergency crews recovered a body from the lake. The victim, a 29-year-old man from Banff, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say his death is not considered suspicious, and no other details will be released.
