Cannabis warehouse destroyed after large fire south of Calgary

A cannabis warehouse has been destroyed after a large structure fire south of Calgary early Wednesday morning.
The High River Fire Department says a call came in around 5:45 a.m. about a fire at a licensed cannabis warehouse along Highway 2A near Aldersyde.
Crews arrived to find the warehouse fully involved, with flames coming through the roof of the building.
Firefighters attempted to enter the warehouse but were forced back by heavy flames. Crews initiated a defensive attack to knock the flames down.
Additional fire crews were called in from Okotoks and Diamond Valley. Crews remained on scene for several hours and had cleared the area by 2 p.m. Wednesday.
No one was inside at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
The building has been completely destroyed.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
