41‑year‑old killed after SUV collides with combine east of Calgary

Gleichen RCMP say one person is dead, and two others are injured following a crash involving a combine and SUV.

A man is dead after the SUV he was a passenger in collided with a farm vehicle on a rural highway within Siksika First Nation.

RCMP say the crash happened shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday on Highway 842, south of Cluny, when an SUV and a combine collided.

Mounties say the SUV had three occupants.

The driver was taken to a Calgary hospital in serious condition, while the front passenger sustained minor injuries. The rear passenger, a 41‑year‑old man from Siksika First Nation, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the combine was not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
