Man charged after victim allegedly drugged, robbed, defrauded in NW Calgary

A man is facing charges after a victim was allegedly drugged, robbed and defrauded during a visit to a northwest Calgary home last month.
Calgary police say the victim went to a home along 40 Avenue near 4 Street NW, where he consumed alcohol, drugs and what was believed to be GHB, commonly referred to as the date-rape drug.
Shortly afterward, he became sick and lost consciousness. When he woke up the next morning, his vehicle, keys and wallet were gone.
Police say he later discovered more than $7,000 in unauthorized purchases had been made through his financial accounts using his cellphone. Police say about $30,000 in fraudulent cheque deposits were also made
Investigators identified two people they believe supplied the victim with drugs and had access to his belongings before they were stolen.
On Aug. 21, police arrested one suspect and searched the home connected to the investigation.
Spencer Ryan Stolk, 37, has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, administering a noxious substance, theft under $5,000, and fraud over $5,000.
A man with the same name was arrested at the same address last month and charged with indignity to a body in connection with the death of a woman found north of Calgary.
Stolk remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court next week.
