Calgary man charged in human trafficking investigation; police believe there may be more victims

A Calgary man is facing a series of charges following a human trafficking investigation, and police believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) and the Calgary Police Service launched a joint investigation in March 2026 after receiving reports that a woman was allegedly the victim of human trafficking

As a result, 25-year-old Eric Dinh was arrested on Sept. 29.

Police say officers searched Dinh’s home in Calgary’s Martindale neighbourhood following his arrest. During the search, investigators allegedly found quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine, along with nearly $5,000 in cash.

Dinh has been charged with obtaining a material benefit from sexual services, advertising sexual services, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited device and possession of proceeds of crime.

He was released from custody under a number of conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 23.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
