The Calgary fire department’s investigating a blaze at a commercial building in the city’s southeast early Wednesday.
Fire crews were called out at about 3:20 a.m. to the single story building on the 100 blk. of Forge Road SE.
Firefighters came upon heavy flames and smoke at the backside of the building.
The fire had been extinguished by the time officials reached out to CityNews at about 7 a.m.
“The fire appears to have originated on the (building’s) exterior and spread (inside) as there was various furniture and other contents stored outside. Crews searched the building and there was no one inside or in the vicinity, no injuries reported,” says spokesman Alex Kwan in a statement.
A fire watch crew is on scene along with a fire investigator.
There’s no word on a potential cause as yet or extent of damage.
