The first flight filled with adopted children from Haiti, has touched down on Canadian soil.
The Air Canada flight carrying 24 children, landed in Ottawa this morning.
For dozens of families the moment has been two years in the making following an extensive, adoption process.
Last week the federal government took steps to fast track the process, given the disaster in Haiti.
The children were escorted off the plane wrapped in blue blankets to protect against the cold.
Several of the older children flashed bright white smiles as they peered above their blankets and walked swiftly.
A total of 154 Canadian adoptions have been approved by the Haitian government.
