Canadians moving to the west again

An updated forecast from T.D. Economics says inter-provincial migration numbers are headed higher.

T.D. economist Sonja Gulati tells 660News resource rich provinces like Alberta will act as a magnet for those looking for work.

Gulati says many people in Central and Eastern Canada will be eyeing the west in the coming months.

She says the migration numbers will not rival what we saw before the recession, but Canadians are again on the move.

Alberta’s economy is expected to post a growth of 4.2 per cent this year and 3.2 per cent in 2012.

Gulati says Alberta’s economy would be booming if natural gas prices were not so depressed.

T.D. believes gas prices will start to bounce back in 2013.
