Two men charged after Airdrie house explosion

Two men are facing various charges after a house explosion in southeast Airdrie.

The incident happened on January 31st.

“Some gentlemen were in the residence and I guess their drug cooking went a little wrong and following an investigation with the Fire Department and our Airdrie General Investigation Section, charges were laid,” said Constable Kristine Brousseau.

The Airdrie officer said damage was extensive.

“It was pretty significant, from what I understand there wasn’t any damage to the other homes but the men involved were injured,” she said.

Airdrie’s Trevor Urquhart and Matthew Visser of St. Albert have been charged with production of a controlled substance and arson.

They’ll be making their first appearance in Airdrie Provincial Court on September 18th, 2014.
