The “unofficial” royal tour

Charlottetown, Quebec City, Yellowknife and Calgary — among other stops — are on the travel itinerary for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their Canadian tour.

But if you live in Toronto and Vancouver, you won’t get a chance to catch a glimpse of Will and Kate. That is, unless you consider a life-size cardboard cut-out of the world’s hottest young couple a visit.

“We thought it would be kind of a fun, tongue in cheek approach to cover it this way, by actually shooting their life-size cut-out in these cities,” 2forcouples.com editor Neil Morton tells 660News. “And we’ve been getting some fun response to it.  It’s just meant to be a real fun approach.”

www.2forcouples.com is an online relationships magazine.

“We’ve been posting these to Facebook and to Twitter and our website, and people just find it really funny,” says Morton, who feels the couple will be bigger than ‘Brangelina’ in terms of impact”.  “We had some comments actually from people, in Toronto and Vancouver, saying:  Well why aren’t they coming to our cities.  We really want them there.  So this is sort of our way of answering that.”

Morton says Will and Kate will unofficially visit a handful of stops like the CN Tower and Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, as well as Gastown and Stanley Park in Vancouver before being “recycled.”
