Fatal head-on collision near Vulcan

A 53-year-old woman died in a Calgary hospital one day after a head-on collision near Vulcan.
The woman was driving her car on Highway 23 around 10:30 Wednesday morning when she veered into the oncoming lane hitting a mini van head-on.
She was trapped in her car until the Vulcan Fire Department cut her out of the wreckage and was then flown to Foothills Hospital by STARS with life-threatening injuries.
The two people in the minivan were also trapped until emergency crews arrived. They were taken to hospital by EMS with non-life threatening injuries.
Names of everyone involved are being withheld while police investigate.
