Banff killer goes before parole board

The killer in a brutal Banff murder more than 20 years ago will go before the National Parole Board to plea for his freedom Wednesday.
Ryan Love, now 40-years-old, was sentenced back in the early 90’s in the horrific death of 18-year-old cab driver, Lucie Turmel, following a two-year search that involved ground-breaking use of DNA and an international manhunt.
Love, who’s never fully expressed remorse for the crime, made headlines in 2000 when he sent a letter to The Calgary Herald stating he was “having the time of his life,” at a minimum-security prison in B.C.
Turmel’s family members say it’s too late for an apology and that Love’s looming freedom is inevitable.
