At this time last year, many people couldn’t pronounce his name.
Now, Mayor Naheed Nenshi is a movie star!
A documentary about his unbelievable rise to power and his use of social media to engage voters debuted at the Calgary International Film Festival Friday night.
Nenshi sat in the front row at the John Dutton Theatre and said afterward, he now thinks he needs a new hairstyle.
Joking aside, he says the movie has a universal message about communities striving for a better future.
The made-for-tv film was produced by Pyramid Productions.
