Alberta legislature sits for fall session

In Edmonton, Alison Redford’s government is ready to show its stuff.
The fall sitting of the legislature begins Monday and six major bills are on the table.
Government house leader Dave Hancock says most of the proposed legislation is intended to fulfil promises made by Premier Redford during her leadership campaign.
To improve a road safety legislation, to begin the process of dealing with issues around the land acts and of course the election amendment act,” said Hancock.
That bill, however, proposes a three-month window for elections instead of the fixed date promised.
The opposition says that’s typical of how most of the proposals fall short of Redford’s campaign commitments.
