Fire advisory in effect near Calgary

There is a downside to the nice weather Calgary has been having.

The province has issued a fire advisory for the area around Calgary because of the early snowmelt.

Safe campfires are allowed in the backcountry, but fire permits have been suspended and new permits will not be issued for now.

The advisory applies only to forests outside of the city.
