Four skiers hurt in three B.C. avalanches


Another series of avalanches thundered down B.C. mountains, injuring four skiers in three separate slides all in one day.

The Calgary Sun reports the first happened Monday in an area known as Steep Creek about 150 km northeast of Vancouver, burying two backcountry skiers.

Search and rescue crews were called again a short time later to Sunshine Mountain about 200 km northeast of Vancouver after another skier was injured in a slide.

Another skier was caught in a slide near Tyax Lodge about 250 km northeast of Vancouver.

All four were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
