Alderman Andre Chabot wants to look into stricter rules and licensing for the city’s ever-growing party bus population.
The community and protective services committee has singled out the booze cruisers as an emerging issue linked to social disorder.
The Calgary Sun says that’s city hall-speak for drunks urinating, vomiting and fighting, all linked to large groups of sauced-up citizens out pub-crawling.
Chabot says he’s concerned the buses remove all responsibility for the people on board and their only purpose is to get people inebriated.
But Alderman John Mar says it’s better for drunks to be on buses than driving around on city streets.
