Car vs. Starbucks in Glenmore Landing

A close call for customers and staff in a Starbucks in the Glenmore Landing Shopping Centre.

A woman drove her car though a wall and into the coffee shop on 90th Avenue S.W Sunday afternoon.

EMS spokesman Stuart Brideaux tells 660News the situation could have ended much worse than it did.

“Fortunately there was no occupants of the restaurant injured at that scene and the patient herself was not injured, although she was still in her vehicle on EMS arrival and we assisted her out.  But there were no injuries sustained at that scene,” he adds.

Eight staff members and 10 customers were in the Starbucks at the time.

Building engineers were brought in to determine the structural safety of the building.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
