Falling gas prices at Calgary pumps

Drivers could be in for a pleasant surprise if they fill up their vehicles Thursday.
Calgary gas prices at the pump are averaging $0.85 and are trending downward, with some station like Costco charging less than $0.80.
Dan McTeague with GasBuddy.com said it could even reach the magical mark of $0.75 in the next few weeks.
“Even with the collapse in the loonie, there’s still even maybe room for those prices to drop even further,” McTeague said. “Especially given that this time of year, it’s gasoline that gets a lot of downward pressure placed on it as refineries really have no maitenance issues and again this is a slow and low demand period.”
He said gas futures have tumbled on the Chicago market and prices are now catching up with crude oil.
