Five year old in stable condition following accident in Claresholm

A child is recovering in hospital after a Saturday afternoon collision in Claresholm.

STARS confirms they transferred the five year old from the Claresholm hospital to Calgary around 12:30 p.m. after the accident occurred on 50th avenue and Highway 2.

“I guess the truck struck him, and then the rear tire went over the mid-section of the child. The child was transported to Calgary hospital by Stars” said RCMP constable Robert Olive.

The cause of the accident is not know and the investigation continues.
