About 300 kids from a southwest Calgary elementary school are being kept warm in a nearby church, as their school is aired out for carbon monoxide.
The Calgary Fire Department’s Carol Henke tells 660 NEWS, firefighters made it to William Reid School at about 9 a.m. on Monday.
“They found carbon monoxide readings as high as 150. So the school was evacuated even before crews even arrived. And right now, fire crews are ventilating,” says Henke.
ATCO is on scene looking for the source of the leak.
Nobody was hurt, and Henke says everyone will be let back in once the leak is found and the building is ventilated.
