It was a quiet first weekend for police at the Stampede.

There were no major incidents and most arrests centered around crimes such as, disorderly conduct and people doing drugs on event grounds.

Police Sergeant Andy Comber tells 660News, one man tried to bring a machete onto the grounds Sunday and he was arrested without incident.

Comber adds police saw more people at the Stampede this weekend compared to the same time last year.
