Dozens of fire trucks packed the 52 hundred block of 23rd Avenue Southeast Saturday afternoon.
They weren’t fighting a big fire but rather celebrating 125 years of service in Calgary.
The Deputy Chief of Operations Len McCharles tells 660News the department is excited to be demonstrating some of the tasks firefighters face.
“We’re very honoured to be able to share and showcase the support we’ve had from the community by bringing our firefighters out and allowing demonstrations for the community to see us do what we do,” he says.
Some of the demonstrations include high angle rescue and vehicle extrication.
