It was a frightening wake-up call for a family of four in Marlborough on Saturday.
A black Nissan Pathfinder came crashing in their home around 4:30 a.m.
Police tell 660News the driver of the vehicle was travelling eastbound on Marbank Drive NE when he hit a parked vehicle, lost control of his SUV and went careening into the northeast home.
The 23-year-old driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He was ejected through the windshield of the Pathfinder, which police say is a good indication he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
The driver was transported to Foothills hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A family living in the house on the corner of Marbank Drive NE and Mardale Road NE weren’t injured in the collision, but were shaken up.
One of the four residents tells 660News he was half-asleep when he went out to see what happened, and was shocked to see the driver slumped on the hood of his SUV.
Police believe both speed and alcohol may have been factors.
