Calgary offering free disposal service for yard waste at landfills

If you’ve been dreading a trip to the dump, this weekend might be a good time to go.
Until May 29, Calgarians can bring yard waste to a city landfill for free.
Loads should only contain leaves, branches, plants, and grass clippings, which are all considered yard waste.

Sod and food scraps are not accepted.
All of the city landfills accept yard waste year-round for composting but charge a price based on weight. For example, the city charges $25 per load for loads under 250 kg.
