Downtown shooting sends 1 to hospital: Calgary police

Shots were fired outside a downtown Calgary restaurant, injuring one and sending them to hospital Sunday.

Calgary police say they were called to a business on the 600 block of 6 Avenue SW around 3:30 a.m. after reports of gunshots.

They believe an “altercation” happened outside the restaurant between a small group, which escalated to a firearm being drawn and fired.

One person was caught with a stray bullet and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

While police told 660 NewsRadio three suspects were identified Sunday morning, no one is in custody in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, investigators believe several witnesses were present and have footage of the area at the time.
