A Calgary probation officer is facing charges after she allegedly accessed confidential information she was not authorized to view.
Calgary police say they were first alerted on Jan. 22, when a report came in that protected records had been improperly accessed.
Investigators believe a probation officer looked at secure and confidential Alberta Correctional Services databases for reasons unrelated to her duties.
On Apr. 30, officers executed a search warrant and seized electronic devices from the suspect where they found evidence showing she had viewed information she was not permitted to access.
Navjot Dhillon, 25, of Calgary, is charged with one count of breach of trust and one count of unauthorized use of a computer. She is scheduled to appear in court in August.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Calgary police at 403‑266‑1234.
