Two charged in string of commercial break‑ins across Calgary

Police have charged two men after a months-long investigation into a series of commercial break-and-enters that targeted several businesses in Calgary.
Calgary police say the investigation began when officers responded to a break-in at Norcan Fluid Power Ltd., near Glenmore Trail and 52 Street SE, sometime between the evening of July 27 and the morning of July 28.
Investigators say two suspects entered the fenced yard and stole about $100,000 in specialized electrical equipment.
As police continued investigating similar commercial break‑ins, they identified two suspects believed to be involved in multiple property-related offences across the city.
On Aug. 18, officers executed a search warrant at a home in the community of Riverbend where they found a stolen vehicle and numerous items believed to have been taken from other businesses.
Police say the stolen vehicle has been returned to its owner, along with more than $30,000 in stolen property recovered for affected companies.
Adam MacArthur, 38, and Douglas Warrington, 37, face multiple break-and-enter and property-related charges. MacArthur is accused of several break‑ins, mischief over $5,000, possession of stolen property and driving uninsured, while Warrington faces similar break-and-enter charges plus driving while prohibited.
