Company pledges $1-millon for Red Cross

An Alberta corporation is to thank for raising a $1-million pledge for the Canadian Red Cross.
Federated Co-operatives Limited and its 235 retail Co-op stores across western Canada raised the cash, and will be doling it out over five years.
The donation is the single larges multi-year gift ever made in the history of the Canadian Red Cross.
The Calgary Sun reports, the money will be split to fund both disaster preparedness and disaster response.
