RCMP in British Columbia say five people are dead after a serious crash near the U.S. border.
The crash occurred in Surrey.
Sergeant Dale Carr says it appears that a westbound Dodge Caravan sped through a red light, and then crashed into a mid-sized car.
The mid-sized car was torn in half, and all five of its occupants, three adults and two children are dead.
The driver of the Dodge Caravan has been transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Carr calls the crash scene a horrific scene of debris, and the worst collision he has witnessed in more than 20 years.
