The clean-up has now begun in several communities, including Bridgeland.
Francis D’Souza from City News spent the morning at 7th Street N.E. and McDougall.
“I was near one parking garage that was full of water, six feet deep of water, over my head,” he says. “I asked them how long it would take to pump out, and they told me four days.”
D’Souza tells 660News he’s seen neighbours work together shovelling out the muck and silt from each other’s walkways.
The city has listed Bridgeland as a self-assessment zone and is allowing everyone to return home.
