Calgary Police are concerned about a new self-breathalyzer on the market called “Blow Before You Go”.
Although the device claims it’s 98 per cent accurate, police fear it will draw some people into a false sense of security because they may be impaired to drive even if they are below the legal limit.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving tells CTV News, it doesn’t know enough about the product to take a stance, but it believes if people need to check whether they’re ok to drive, they probably shouldn’t.
The distributor of the product in Calgary does not endorse drinking and driving but feels the device can help people make responsible decisions.
