Alderman backs Enmax allegations

A Calgary alderman is backing Enmax over allegations the competition has been trying to discredit the company.

Enmax board chair Cliff Fryers lashed out on Friday saying recent negative press was the result of a competitor trying to damage Enmax’s reputation.

Alderman Brian Pincott now tells the Calgary SUN, it’s a fair assessment since he’s received at least four letters from rival company Spot Power which he says accuses Enmax of bad governance and overpaying its executives.

A spokesman for Spot Power says the letters were not an attack on Enmax but rather a political statement made during the election.

Enmax has been taking heat since September after word C.E.O. Gary Holden earned a salary of $2.7 million and had thrown lavish parties at his house with rock stars.
