Alleged RCMP stabber denied bail

A man charged with the attempted murder of an RCMP officer in downtown Calgary won’t be getting bail.
A judge has ordered Lee Christopher Monrose to remain in custody until his preliminary hearing in February, saying he is a danger to the public.
Monrose was charged after Sergeant Andrew Johnson was attacked by a knife-wielding man at the offices of the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team.
Monrose was there to talk about a police incident in northeast Calgary in 2009, where he was grazed in the head by a bullet when officers fired at him repeatedly.
