Fatal collision on Symons Valley Road

A car crash in Calgary’s far northwest involving a gravel truck and pick-up has claimed the life of the pick-up driver.
The vehicles collided at 144th Avenue NW and Symons Valley Road just before noon Wednesday, trapping the pick-up driver inside his vehicle.
Firefighters freed the man, believed to be in his 50’s, but say he was pronounced dead on scene.
The intersection was closed for more than five hours as police cleared up the wreck.
