Calgary looking to send workers to Haiti

The city is looking for people to go to Haiti.

The mayor will bring an urgent motion to council today to approve the development of an interdepartmental team to go to the ravaged area and rebuild the city over the next 18 months.

Dave Bronconnier also says he’ll pitch the idea to the Canadian Municipalities big city mayor’s meeting on Thursday.

If all 22 cities sign on, a team of 110 workers could be sent to the Haitian capital over the next year and a half, according to the Calgary Herald.
