Calgary police have recovered a vehicle believed to be connected to an ongoing investigation into a suspicious death.
The black 1999 GMC Denali was towed to a police facility early Tuesday morning, after being discovered in the 100 block of Falmere Way N.E.
The body of a man was found inside the vehicle and has been taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The autopsy is expected to be completed on Wednesday.
The search for the vehicle began Sunday, after police were called to the 200 block of Falshire Way N.E.
Once they arrived, officers say they saw evidence that led them to believe a man was killed there.
At that point in time, investigators said they believed they knew who the victim was. However, the victim’s identity has not yet been released.
Officers are still hoping to locate multiple edged weapons that may have been dumped in the northeast community of Temple.
These weapons may be wrapped in a green towel and could be in an alley.
If these items are found by a member of the public, they’re asked not to touch them, but to instead call 911 immediately.
Two people who were initially taken into custody in connection to this case but have since been released, however, police say they do remain persons of interest.
The vehicle was located in the 100 block of Falmere Way N.E.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service immediately at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
