Local flea market could be toast

The new home of the Calgary Farmer’s Market will come at the expense of the local flea market.

Vendors at Heritage Market in the southeast tell The Calgary Herald, they’ve been left out of plans to renovate the space that will become the new home of the market when it moves out of Currie Barracks this fall.

Those same vendors say they were only told Sunday that the farmers market was taking over their space.

The building permit for the new farmers market was approved last week, but there are still two weeks left for appeals to be heard.
