A former Conservative MP still has a political fire in his belly.
74 year-old Myron Thompson, who retired from the federal Conservative Party, has joined the upstart Wildrose Alliance in Alberta.
He’ll work in the Rocky Mountain House riding which is currently represented by his good friend Progressive Conservative Ty Lund.
Thompson tells 660News, he’s worried about the direction of the province under the Stelmach government.
He adds he has eight grandchildren and he thinks about their future as much as anything else and he hopes the world will get a little better, instead of worse.
Thompson says he would like to see a return to grassroots values, a more decentralized provincial government and an emphasis put on fiscal conservatism.
