Canada’s day nine medal hopes have been dashed at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.
Brothers Charles and Francois Hamelin finished fourth and fifth in the Men’s 1,000 metre short track speed skating event, despite starting the race off with early leads.
On the ladies side, Tania Vicent also finished off the podium in the 1,500 metre final.
It was a disappointing day in long track as well. Denny Morrison did not medal in the Men’s 1,500 metre long track speed skating event.
We also lost out on the hardware this morning in the Ladies Super G.
Although considered to be solid medal contenders, two Canucks in the Women’s Super G finals didn’t get very close to the podium.
Britt Janyk of Whistler was the top Canadian with a 17th place finish and Emily Brydon of Fernie, B.C. crashed in her final Olympic race.
