A violent, random robbery in the city’s northwest over the weekend, has sent a man to hospital.
The victim, who is in his 20’s, was walking home from the Safeway in Balmoral just after 11:00 p.m. Saturday night, when he was suddenly attacked.
The suspect reportedly punched him in the face, stole his belongings, and then took off in a white four-door vehicle.
The victim managed to walk to his nearby house and call police.
But when paramedics showed up, the man went into a seizure. At that point, his condition was considered life-threatening so homicide detectives were called in.
By Sunday morning his condition was upgraded.
Police are still searching for the suspect; he’s described as a 25-year-old native man with a ponytail.
