The Mayor’s race could start heating up Wednesday afternoon.
Alderman Joe Connelly is expected to announce his intention to run for Mayor.
A website called “Joe for Mayor” is already up and running.
“It’s going to be an exciting time come October 2010,” Mayor Dave Bronconnier tells Citytv. “We’re seeing Alderman Connelly as the first member of council to thrown his hat in the ring and I think we’ll hear of a few more in the next short while.”
Ward 12 Alderman Ric McIver is expected to officially announce next Wednesday.
Diane Colley-Urquhart and Bob Hawkesworth are also reportedly considering the move.
Bronconnier will not be running for re-election.
