Calgarians might wake up early Tuesday morning and make the “discovery” of a lifetime.
If all goes according to plan, you may be able to see the space shuttle soar over the city as it descends toward Florida.
Phil Langill, director of the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory, tells 660News the view could be breathtaking.
Shuttle Discovery is expected to be visible from the city shortly after 5:00 a.m. Tuesday. To get the best show, Langill recommends going somewhere for a clear view of the sky, like a park.
Langill says you may also be able to hear a distant pop, the sound of a sonic boom as the shuttle soars faster than the speed of sound.
Discovery was supposed to land in Florida Monday, but was delayed because of the weather.
